Ngaio Toy Library

  • I undertake to return the items borrowed from the Toy Library by the due date, to advise the Toy Library of any change to my contact details and of any cessation of membership and to pay upon demand charges set by the Ngaio Toy Library from time to time for toys/puzzles damaged or lost, for overdue returns, for failure to perform rostered duties or for special hire items (such as party-hire and summer toy hire).

  • I understand that my membership may be reviewed and terminated by the Committee in accordance with the rules (e.g. in the event of repeat damage to toys and/or loss of toy pieces or in the event of non-attendance at duty or stock-take when rostered).

  • I assume complete and full responsibility for any damage or injury caused through the use of toys when issued to me and agree to comply with any instructions regarding the safe use of toys.

  • Duty members: I will complete the rostered duties as needed by the Toy Library prior to resigning as a duty member or will alter my membership of that of a non-duty member and pay the difference in fees. If I am unable to lift heavy or bulky toys (for example due to being pregnant or injured) I will let the librarian or a committee member know so that I can be assigned light duties.

  • The Ngaio Toy library strive to create a safe environment for all members. We are committed to our responsibility to proactively identify and manage all health and safety risks by taking all reasonable, practicable steps to provide safe equipment that is maintained to an acceptable and safe standard. Our members have a prime responsibility to ensure that they take reasonable care of their own health and safety while using our equipment, which includes ensuring that children in their care are wearing appropriately fitted helmets and other necessary protective gear when using bikes, scooters, or other toys with wheels. The Ngaio Toy Library does not provide helmets for these toys as we cannot ensure an appropriate fit for all children

We ask that all members supervise the children in their care while on site and refrain from bringing sick children to the toy library. If a health and safety incident does occur on site, or if a hazard is identified (such as a broken toy) please advise the Toy Librarian or a duty member.
